Radiance is not
a colour correction.

Dark spots, melasma, and uneven tone are not surface problems — they are signals from within the skin. We work at the level of pigment production itself: slowing what triggers it, accelerating what clears it, and supporting the skin in finding its own luminosity again.

Our Approach

Even tone is not about
erasing. It is about restoring.

Pigmentation is one of the most complex skin concerns we treat — because it has many origins, behaves differently across skin tones, and responds poorly to approaches that treat it as a surface issue. Brightening products can help, but they cannot interrupt the melanin production pathway. Clinical treatment can.

At Roses & More, we address pigmentation from two angles: cellular renewal, which clears the melanin already deposited in the skin, and melanocyte regulation, which works on the signalling that drives pigment production in the first place. Our protocols are designed to be safe across all skin tones and effective on the types of pigmentation that are most resistant — including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and sun-induced dark spots.

Two modalities. Composable. Often used together.

Understanding what you're treating

Not all pigmentation
is the same.

Before any brightening protocol can work effectively, it helps to understand what type of pigmentation you're dealing with — because the origin determines the approach. Treating melasma the same way as sun spots, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation the same way as freckles, leads to poor results and sometimes makes things worse.

Our consultation begins here — identifying the type, depth, and likely driver of your pigmentation — before recommending any protocol. Some respond fastest to cellular turnover approaches. Others require melanocyte regulation from the start. Most benefit from both.

Sun-induced pigmentation
UV-triggered overproduction of melanin. Typically superficial and most responsive to cellular turnover approaches like spicule therapy.
Melasma
Hormonally driven. Deeper, more diffuse, and more resistant. Requires careful, non-aggravating approaches — heat-based treatments can worsen it.
Post-inflammatory (PIH)
Pigmentation following acne, injury, or irritation. Depth varies. Both spicule renewal and plasma brightening can be effective depending on skin tone and depth.
Age spots & freckles
Accumulated UV damage expressed in discrete deposits. Generally superficial and among the most responsive to treatment. Can fade significantly with consistent protocols.
01 Marine Spicule · Cellular Renewal

Spicule
Brightening

Marine plankton spicule bio-microneedling for natural, progressive cellular turnover and pigmentation clearance. Works by accelerating the skin's renewal cycle — moving melanin-laden cells to the surface and clearing them, while stimulating fresh, evenly-toned new skin beneath.

Pairs well with Vitamin C Infusion  ·  Hydration Rescue  ·  Clinical Lymphatic Activation
How it works

Marine spicules — microscopic silica needles derived from sea plankton — are applied to the skin and create thousands of micro-channels through gentle physical action. This triggers a controlled renewal response: cell turnover accelerates, collagen production increases, and the melanin deposits sitting in the upper layers of the skin are cleared as part of the renewal cycle. Unlike chemical exfoliation, this is a biological process — and the skin responds accordingly, with progressive, lasting results rather than a surface brightness that fades.

  • Natural bio-microneedling — no synthetic chemicals
  • Accelerates cellular turnover and melanin clearance
  • Stimulates collagen alongside brightening
  • Safe for deeper skin tones (no heat, no risk of PIH)
  • Progressive results over a course of sessions
  • Pairs powerfully with brightening actives and vitamin C infusion
What it addresses

Spicule brightening is particularly well-suited for superficial to mid-depth pigmentation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in darker skin tones where heat-based treatments carry risk, and clients who prefer a natural, biology-driven approach over energy-based technology. It is also an excellent complement to plasma brightening — often used in alternating sessions for compounded results.

  • Superficial dark spots and sun damage
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
  • General uneven tone and dullness
  • Freckles and age spots
  • Skin texture alongside pigmentation
  • All skin tones — heat-free and non-aggravating

Pigmentation is one of the most frequently misunderstood skin concerns — and one of the easiest to make worse with the wrong approach. Before we recommend any protocol, we assess your pigmentation type, skin tone, and history. Whether spicule, plasma, or a composed combination is right for you depends on what we find. The consultation is always the right place to start.

Complimentary. No obligation. Honest guidance.

"Spicule therapy doesn't bleach the skin — it renews it. The pigmentation clears because the cells carrying it are replaced, not because we've suppressed the melanin itself. That's a more natural result, and it tends to last."

02 NOVA Dual Plasma · Melanocyte Regulation

Plasma
Brightening

Advanced dual plasma technology for precision pigmentation correction — working at the level of melanocyte activity itself. Targets the signalling that drives excess pigment production, while stimulating collagen and improving overall skin quality. Coming to the menu as the full protocol is refined.

Pairs well with Spicule Brightening  ·  Hydration Rescue  ·  Clinical Lymphatic Activation
How it works

Cold plasma has a demonstrated effect on melanocyte activity — the cells responsible for producing melanin. By modulating the inflammatory signals that trigger melanocyte overactivation, cold plasma can interrupt the pigmentation cycle at its source rather than simply clearing what has already been deposited. NOVA's dual plasma additionally stimulates collagen and improves skin quality alongside the brightening effect, making it a multidimensional treatment rather than a single-concern protocol.

  • Cold plasma modulates melanocyte signalling
  • Interrupts pigmentation at source — not just at the surface
  • Simultaneously stimulates collagen and skin renewal
  • Precision delivery — treatable in targeted areas
  • Effective on deeper, more resistant pigmentation
  • Non-ablative — no downtime for brightening protocols
What it addresses

Plasma brightening is particularly well-suited for pigmentation that has not responded adequately to topical or renewal-based approaches — including stubborn melasma, deep or diffuse hyperpigmentation, and pigmentation with an inflammatory driver. Because it works on the melanocyte itself rather than simply accelerating cell turnover, it produces a different quality of result to spicule therapy — and the two protocols are often most effective used together in a composed programme.

  • Stubborn or deep hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma (cold plasma — avoids heat-induced worsening)
  • PIH with an ongoing inflammatory driver
  • Diffuse uneven tone resistant to topical treatment
  • Post-acne marks combined with active skin concerns
  • Clients seeking collagen alongside brightening

"The best brightening programmes address pigmentation from both directions — clearing what's already there, and interrupting what drives it. Spicule and plasma together do both."

Choosing Your Pathway

Not sure which
is right for you?

Spicule and plasma brightening work differently — and often best together. Here's a guide to help you think through the right starting point for your skin and pigmentation type.

Begin with Spicule if…
  • Your pigmentation is superficial — sun spots, freckles, age spots
  • You have a deeper skin tone and want to avoid heat-based treatments
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is your main concern
  • You prefer a natural, biology-driven approach
  • You want brightening alongside texture improvement
  • You'd like to begin treatment while plasma protocols are finalised
Wait for Plasma if…
  • Your pigmentation is stubborn, deep, or has not responded to other treatments
  • Melasma is a significant concern — cold plasma avoids heat-triggered worsening
  • You have a strong inflammatory driver behind your pigmentation
  • You want to address collagen alongside brightening
  • You're looking for the most intensive non-ablative brightening available
  • A combined programme is your goal — plasma alongside spicule

Many clients begin with spicule brightening and build toward a combined programme once plasma opens. Your therapist can map the full sequence at your consultation — so your programme is already planned when all modalities are available.
